Luke Skywalker on the Falcon. Finn fighting Phasma! Snoke and his throne room
More clues get revealed in the new Star Wars trailer that debuted during the World Series.
In a new teaser trailer for ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’ that dropped during game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday, we see some new and exciting footage.
Let’s cut to the chase, the best thing about this trailer is seeing Luke back on the falcon. I wasn’t expecting this teaser, and when I pressed play I was expecting a recut of the main trailer from October. So seeing Luke immediately on the Falcon made me gasp just a little bit. For me, it mirrored the lead up to The Force Awakens when we saw Han and Chewie “we’re home” reveal.
What makes this even more interesting is that it’s Luke’s first time back on the Falcon since ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, after freshly losing his lightsaber and his Hand. How must he be feeling after Rey has literally just returned that saber to him 30 odd years later?
In addition to this we also get our first full view of Snokes throne room and General Hux.
The throne room is hugely expansive, minimalist with a stunning red light background and lined with Pateron guards. Clearly Snoke’s mind set is that he is the supreme ruler of this domain.
We also see Hux for the first time. What his situation will be after his fail on Starkiller base is unclear.
The last big moment is moments of the trailer is Rey (Daisy Ridley) igniting her lightsaber … potentially fighting Luke in the rain? who yells at her, "This is not going to go the way you think!"
Directed by Rian Johnson, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is in theaters worldwide on Dec. 15.
